On the 14th January 2016 Emma and her husband, Andrew’s beautiful little boy, Angus was born sleeping at 26 weeks, there was no reason, he was a perfectly healthy baby boy born to a perfectly healthy mother, only without breath. It was important to get life back to some sort of normality, never to forget, but with a gorgeous four year old little girl to take care of, life had to go on. Emma has now returned to work as a Food and Beverage Manager. Since then she has chosen to join Still Aware in raising awareness, encouraging expectant families to monitor their babies movements in the hope that it might just prevent another family from going through the utter heartbreak of leaving the hospital with empty arms, and an empty heart. “Six babies every day are born still. We need to talk about pregnancy loss, we need to talk about stillbirth.”

Jessica works as a freelance Graphic Designer in Adelaide. In August 2014, her daughter Isobel was born a perfect baby girl, but passed away after 6 days due to major complications caused from a ‘cord prolapse’ during labour while still at home. Jessica and her husband work to raise awareness of pregnancy loss by openly sharing their journey in memory of their daughter, in hope that it will help increase awareness and support for families who have experienced loss. When Jessica learnt about Still Aware she was moved to help create change for something that was not inevitable, but could be preventable. Losing Isobel was a tragedy, but there were no signs of prevention. “I miss Isobel every day, and I can do something today in her honour that will prevent another family experiencing this same heartache”.
